That making the joists easier to carry and place into position when building the deck, which makes a big difference if you are doing it yourself!
The joists are made from T6 aluminium which is naturally rust and corrosion resistant, but we have chosen to add a powder-coated finish to these joists for even more protection from the elements – we understand how important it is that your deck’s substructure is reliable and long-lasting, and it definitely shouldn’t need treatment once in place, whatever the weather throws at it! The powder coating on the joists is black, so the joists won’t be easily visible through the gaps in the decking, keeping the substructure invisible beneath the boards.
Aluminium joists are always straight (unlike timber joists) which keeps your decking perfectly even, and installation is rapid – the joists are secured into position quickly and easily using our fasteners, which come with time and effort-saving self-drilling screws. The sturdy joists only need to be supported by a pedestal every 1.2m, which saves on both materials and assembly time, reducing the project costs.
